Harvesting Honey
While people raise bees for various reasons, most beekeepers aim to profit from harvesting the surplus honey their bees produce. And so no matter how large or small the beekeeping operation, in late summer (or in some cases several times during the year), beekeepers need to extract the golden goodness from the supers.
They can extract the honey manually or by using a completely automated system. Over time, the industry has introduced new technologies to make the job easier, but the mechanical principles remain much the same.
